Awards:
Trophies for 1st place in each event (Divisions A, B, C, and Team), To be presented at the field on Sunday at approximately 3:30 P.M.

Competition Range:
Will be open Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday 9 AM to 2 PM. B ELA must be flown Saturday from 9 AM to Noon. Duration events will be flown from Noon until 5 PM on Sat. and from 9 AM until 2 PM on Sunday. Sport Scale turn in will be Friday evening at the Motel and Saturday until noon at the field. Sport Scale will be flown on Sunday.

Fees:
A & B Div: $10
C Div. $15
Team $18

No additional charges to fly on the sport range.

There is $3 late fee for registrations received
after October 2nd.

Check-In:
Will be at the Best Value Motel (Room 107) starting
at 7:00 PM Friday evening.

Dragon Fire

FAA Waiver:

Range:
Will be open on Saturday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., and Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M.

Motors:
Tripoli or NAR certified motor up through I without advanced application, J motors require advance application/ approval, subject to launch day flying conditions.

Note:
Due to the launch site's proximity to an interstate, the RSO will reserve the right to lower the permitted motor range.

Fees:
$14 for both days, or $10 for single day flying (rates are for flyer or family).
Tripoli Pittsburgh members fees are $12 and $8.

Directions:
The launch site is located off Exit 35 (Rt. 481, Monongahela/Centerville) of Interstate 70. From Exit 35 off ramp, follow Rt. 481 south for less than 0.2 miles to intersection with Grange Road. Turn right, the access road to the flying field is about 0.8 miles west on Grange Road, just past Gavco Construction and next to Wheatly Road. Signs will be posted on the approach roads and at the access road entrance Friday through Sunday.

Field Rules:
All participant’s must follow the safety code and field rules that will be posted. There are power lines at the edge of the field, any participant who’s model lands on these lines will be responsible for 50% of the cost of removal.


Steel City Smoke Trial
is the first launch of the newly created MADROC Championship Series!

MADROC is the: Mid-Atlantic District ROcketry Championship It is comprised of these 4 NAR sections: NARHAMS #139, NOVAAR #205, PSC #473 and SPAAR #503 who will fight it out at 3 Regionals on the East coast (SCST-2, ECRM-30, and MARS-?) for the most points to be crowned champion in all four divisions plus section for the 2002-2003 contest year.

When making your reservation at the Best Value Motel, please mention that you are with the "PGHRocketry" group. Discount will work like this: You choose your room with number of beds needed. (Motel has rooms with single beds, 2 double beds and 3 beds in a room, not sure of sizes here.) If there are at least 10 rooms reserved for the group, you will receive 10% off the regular price of the room. Regular rates are $30-$45 depending on number of adults and beds in room.
