Here is Christine Rial's Hi-Tech 45 rocket ready for yet another flight. This poor rocket has hung in trees for months on end. Well, this time it flew OK but the delay elment never lit, so it crashed back to earth, forcing me to do a another remake job over night.
Liftoff of Paul Bixler's "Hyperactive" rocket flying on a G-64 to over 1,400 feet!
Dave Grumbine's Red Eye II lofting a small digital camera on an F24.
Matt McKeown's 4" diameter Nike Smoke on a I-195 Black Jack.
Tripoli "geezers" Ken Good and Tom Blazanin with the Tom-built and Ken-modifed dual recovery "Tripoli Pittsburgh" EZI-65, before its flight on an I-211. Despite a perfect flight in this configuration at DF27 in September, this time in windy conditions, the drogue chute harness tangled the main chute, resulting in a hard landing and minor damage. But it will fly again at DF29!
Elliott Watt's AMRAAM 2.1 on a G33 blackjack.
Elizabeth getting ready to launch her big rocket!
Here is rocket flying for a another great flight.
Ernie Walters with his "Magnesium Overcast." This 10'-8" rocket was custom designed by Ernie utilizing DYNACOM material. A big thank you to Eric.
Here is Ernie installing an igniter into one of those new Animal Motor Works "K670-Green Gorilla" motors.
Liftoff of Paul Bixler's "Gallant" flying on an H-97. Lot's of smoke on a slow burning motor!
Liftoff of Paul Bixler's "Stars, Stripes & Primer" on an I-357 Blue Thunder. The name was changed for this flight after a rebuild with a lot of stripes missing! Will fly again in 2003 with a new patriotic paint job!
The start of an impressive R/C boost glider flight, with acknowledged master of controlled boost gliders, Todd Wuchevich, at the controls. After a sustained display of climbs, dives, loops and snap-rolls, Todd brought his beautiful bird back for a perfect landing.
Todd Wuchevich's R/C boost glider makes a low pass over the competition range.
Todd W - LOC Ultimate on an H-something, looks like White-lightning, probably an H128.
This is my (Woody H.) mosquito on a K550, which would later airstart (2) I284's. I used too big a drogue, which got stuck, and it came down way too fast, but amazingly the main held together. It took us 3 hours to find it, but when we did the chute was about 75 feet up in a tree. We did manage to get a hook on the rocket and get it back, with, amazingly, no damage.
This is "Borghild", a supersize Big Bertha that Ernie Walters had built. Here it is flying on a AMW J450 Super Tiger motor. Altitude beeped out at over 3,400 feet.
Ok you dont really think I get every shot do you? This was my IROC taking off on a I435 Aerotech motor. It was off the pad with a bang. It took off so fast that it tore off the launch lugs. Which is what you see in the picture.
Here is Ernie again, this time with his DYNACOM A-4/V-2 rocket. The custom paint job was done by Tom Blazanin. Thanks Tom.
Ernie's V-2 lifting off the pad on a Aerotech J315 Redline motor, for it's maiden flight. The G-WIZ unit blinked out over 3,200 foot altitude. Awsome.
